Christmas celebration
Friday, December 17th 2011 children, families and the school staff celebrated the Christmas. After the students' show, the Father Christmas visited them to congratulate them. A party accompanied by a succulent buffet was a very nice moment for the children and the parents.
The “Galette”
In France it is used to share a “galette” of King in January in families, schools, administrations and companies. At the Jules Verne Riga French school, this tradition took place on Tuesday, January 18th 2011 afternoon, in the big hall. Several children were crowned Kings or Queens before dancing a Round dedicated to this tradition.
A scientific walk to the park
French school students discovered the expressions of spring together with a young French-speaking scientist. On the occasion of the Francophony, the students of Jules Verne Riga French School were lucky to explore the expressions of spring in the neighbouring park with Tolga, a young scientific from the Embassy of France in Riga. When they had returned in the classrooms they had the chance to observe the microscopic animals living in the pond with the magnifying glass. A vivarium has been installed momentarily in the classroom of Small group, while the big ones have written stories, made sketchs and drawings.
